“Fishing and Relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2015
Spent the 2 nod week of May 2015 here.
We were part of an organised trip of a group of 12, and we had our own personal group of 5, which quickly became assimilated. Impossible not to.
The lodge itself was fantastic.
Cabins each had 4 single beds with a luxurious lounge area, including a huge TV and stereo, why I’m not sure as it was never turned on!
The lodge had 5 boats, we utilised 3 per day between the group.
A pool that was just a godsend at the end of the day, and staff that ensured we never had an empty glass whilst in there.
The main lounge, dining room, and bar was extremely tasteful, and comfortable. Chef Eric with his irrepressible smile describing the 3 course meal he was about to present had our mouths watering.
The laundry basket at the entrance of the cabins was just so welcome, it was like magic, whatever went in there on a night, was washed and either hung in the wardrobe or folded on the lounge the next afternoon.
Arriving back at the wharf on a night and seeing the staff waiting with a cold wet towel and a cocktail was just so welcome and refreshing.
There are a couple of recommendations I would make, and it revolves around the fishing. If you are experienced anglers and boat operators, have a discussion with the skipper and deckie and ensure they understand that.
Also consider taking some of your own gear, mainly in the lighter scale, jigs, plastics, smaller lures.
The important test, would I return, Yes, definately
